Call for Proposals – Future-themed Amigos Member Conference, May 9-10, 2012

Amigos is currently accepting proposals for the future-themed Amigos Member Conference, online on May 9-10, 2012.

Insight and vision are key skills needed to take libraries into a future that librarians influence and create for their campuses and communities. Creating the future recognizes technological, political, economic, and societal influences. It requires planning skills that acknowledge uncertainty and possibilities at that same time. We are looking for libraries who have implemented future focused services and strategies; tell your story at the Amigos Member conference.

Cataloging with RDA

Are you ready for RDA? If you are or if you need to learn more, take a look at Amigos’ newest online class Cataloging with RDA. With the test results in, three national libraries (LC, NLM and NLA) plan to implement the new standard "no sooner than January 2013."

E-readers are very popular for library patrons and libraries have responded by offering more e-content for their patrons. With all the options of e-content sources as well as e-reader devices, it can easily become a daunting task to provide the support needed for your patrons.
