Libraries all over are trying to figure out how to position themselves as a valuable resource when they can't keep the lights on as long as they used to.

As a part of preparations for the future implementation of RDA, OCLC staff has been discussing how RDA data and practices might be incorporated more fully into WorldCat. A discussion paper, Incorporating RDA practices into WorldCat, which lays out potential policies and actions, is now available for comment.

Small libraries can now easily set up cloud-based, mobile-ready sites to help connect users to local content and services

The Website for Small Libraries project, which began as an OCLC Innovation Labs experiment in 2011, is now available as a beta service for any library wishing to set up its own website.
