Call for Proposals – Future-themed Amigos Member Conference, May 9-10, 2012

Amigos is currently accepting proposals for the future-themed Amigos Member Conference, online on May 9-10, 2012.

Insight and vision are key skills needed to take libraries into a future that librarians influence and create for their campuses and communities. Creating the future recognizes technological, political, economic, and societal influences. It requires planning skills that acknowledge uncertainty and possibilities at that same time. We are looking for libraries who have implemented future focused services and strategies; tell your story at the Amigos Member conference.

As we move through the 21st century, the trajectory of libraries will unfold against a backdrop of the major trends swirling around us. Leading global futurist Warren Evans will kick off the future-themed 2012 Amigos Member Conference with his examination of emerging trends. His presentation, "Where in the World is the World Going," will touch on macro trends – technical, political, social, economic, educational, and demographic influences – and describe how their interactions will impact the environment in which libraries operate.
